That’s Deep. A Mindfulness Guide for College Students

Welcome to That’s Deep’s audio mindfulness exercises. There are eight exercises, corresponding to each of the eight exercises included in the book. These audio recordings have been read and produced by voice-over artist and YouTube Reiki ASMRtist Kelly Jean, of This ASMR Reiki Life.

Box Breathing Exercise.

Box breathing techniques are taught all over the world now days, from Kindergarten classes to Navy SEAL training programs. Here is our version from page 107 of Chapter Three: Treat Yo’Self.

The Body-Scan Meditation Exercise.

Body-Scan meditations are one of the surest ways to “check-in” with you body, offering a way of re-membering (no pun intended) all of your body parts and pieces. Take some time to enjoy all of yourself with this exercise originally found on page 112 of Chapter Three: Treat Yo’Self.

Social Confidence Affirmations Exercise.

Social events and settings can be both amazing and exhausting. Whether you’re a social butterfly or wallflower, take a few moments to appreciate yourself with these confidence-boosting affirmations. Available on page 140 of Chapter Four: IYKYK.

Lovingkindness Meditation Exercise.

One of the oldest forms of meditation, Lovingkindness achieves peace of mind by sending positive vibes and well-wishes to those in your orbit. Taken from page 173 of That’s Deep., this exercise is great for anyone who struggles to focus on themselves during meditations.

Walking Meditation Exercise.

One of our favorites, the walking meditation from Chapter Six of That’s Deep offers an opportunity to bring mindfulness into your body, moving with deliberate, intentional actions and celebrating your body and its location in the world.

Lying Down Meditation Exercise.

Take some time to try this lying down meditation, from page 234 of Chapter Seven: Levelin’ Up. It’s a wonderful way to find total relaxation inside of yourself. And, if you fall asleep, that’s wonderful. Try it again when you wake up.
