  • Owner/CEO/Managing Editor

I'm Dr. Christopher Driscoll, Ph.D., owner and managing editor of Exact Rush Multimedia Publishing and an Associate Professor of Religion Studies at a major U.S. university. I’m a scholar of religion, spirituality, and culture as well as a knowledge entrepreneur committed to supporting authors and creatives to earn their worth and increase the reach of their ideas. That’s why I started Exact Rush Multimedia Publishing.

My academic journey has explored spirituality, the history of religion, and social identity, topics that now serve as the backbone of Exact Rush. I am the author of numerous books on topics ranging from race and religion, to hip hop culture, mountaineering religions, and more. Additionally, I have lectured extensively across the U.S. and internationally in universities, religious and spiritual communities, and various corporate settings.

Having spent the first half of my adult life convinced I was a skeptic and an atheist, a single distance reiki session several years ago transformed all of that. I had spent many years using the tools of scholarship to try and convince others that belief in God or forces we cannot see were dangerous and should be avoided. I am now in the process of unlearning and relearning how to use those tools in order to empower others both inside and outside of higher education.

My research concerns the intersections of religion and the climate crisis, including their political, economic, and social ramifications. During my time at Rice University, I focused on the ethical and theological dimensions of the Cape Town water crisis that occurred between 2015 and 2018, based on personal fieldwork. After my PhD program, I am still committed to understanding how our global society can achieve radical solutions in our fight against climate change, and how I can best serve in my local community. In my free time, I like to read and wander the cityscape of Philadelphia

Having lived in South Africa and conducted research in Zambia, I have known, studied under, and worked with amazing people from all over the continent. My job is to connect passionate African writers and thinkers with the means to publish and market their books to a wide American audience.
